Jesus Says This ONE Thing Could Send You to HELL (& How to AVOID It)

beyond the words disciples misreading scripture

Jesus says that this ONE particular thing could send you to hell...and most people worry that they won’t be able to avoid it.

Let me ask you, have you ever been confused and concerned by this passage:
Jesus says, “If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, where ‘the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched’” (Mark 9:43-48).

To most people, it sounds like Jesus is saying that if we don’t cut off our limbs and gouge out our eyes, we’re going to end up in hell. But is that REALLY what Jesus is saying? Is there actually more going on here that helps us to understand what Jesus TRULY wants us to watch out for, and how we can be sure to avoid it?

Well, if you want to find out the answers to those questions and more, then join me for this episode of Misreading Scripture.
