The truth is, the Chosen isn’t able to include every event from the gospels. There are simply too many, and including all of them makes script-writing incredibly difficult.
But the show has also made it clear that their goal is to point the audience back to scripture. And when we do go back to the Bible, we find one particular event that adds even greater depth to the events of the first season, and more importantly, to our understanding of the gospel as a whole.
